If there had been more loss of life, it could've further proven Mysterio's false story as it proved Spider-Man "killed" innocents. These drones didn't fire repulsors, and bullets could ricochet or misfire, creating a dangerous area surrounding the elemental as civilians tried to escape. ![]() Mysterio's death also proved that the drone's unpredictability meant there should've been much more destruction.īecause of the destruction caused at the Tower Bridge, as well as the live fire used to destroy cars, it's strange that there were no casualties. Now, the worst issue that came with the illusions was collateral damage, which turned out to be the reason why Mysterio was killed as a drone firing live rounds hit him with a stray bullet. This allowed for the massive elemental illusion to feel deadlier than ever, as the weapons had military-grade weapons. But air jets and flamethrowers weren't the only offensive tools available, as Mysterio used live fire to cause maximum destruction. The Stark drones Mysterio used aided in solving the issue of tangibility, which made the illusions more real. Even still, there were problems with the tech's tangibility, as teased when Spider-Man was ambushed by copies of himself, even though none of the bodies should've had weights to keep him down. The illusions were incredibly believable and allowed Mysterio to project false versions of himself that were concrete pillars or Fury to trick Spider-Man into revealing valuable information. When Spider-Man went to warn Nick Fury of Mysterio's deception, he was tricked into entering a construction site that was made to look like the location in Berlin Fury was headed to. While Mysterio's earliest projections failed to bridge the gap between what was and wasn't believable, the Stark drones changed this, as it led to one of the most impressive action sequences in the movie. The same could be said for the Molten Man fight, which involved real destruction from projections that weren't. Property damage, on the other hand, could easily be explained, but the largest issue was tangibility, as these projects were far more interactive than they should've been. However, there's no way to properly account for the amount of real water being used. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) tries to help Peter Parker after his identity is revealed by using a spell to make the world forget he is the web-slinging superhero.
